Zusammenfassung: This work explores how phenomena of secularization were expressed in the literature dating from the 11th to the 15th century. Exemplary analyses show how the concepts of the aesthetic and the religious in these texts overlapped and at the same time began to diverge from one another. Literary texts from a variety of genres will be studied for the strategies of secularization they employ.
