Parliamo, quindi, di (Eco)Sistemi di Innovazione Sociale e lo facciamo partendo proprio da una riflessione critica del termine “ecosistema”. Il volume nasce a seguito del progetto SEED: Ecosistemi di Innovazione Sociale, (sostenuto da DG Employment, Social Affairs & Inclusion della Commissione Europea) il cui obiettivo è stato sviluppare spazi pubblici e accessibili per valorizzare le risorse europee destinate all’innovazione sociale. Nel corso del progetto, l’Università di Bologna ha contribuito a realizzare un percorso di capacity building volto a supportare la comprensione e la diffusione degli ecosistemi di innovazione sociale. Così, in linea con le riflessioni ed esperienze condivise in quella sede, il libro propone un ragionamento sulle competenze - capacità, possibilità e potenzialità, degli attori e dei territori - che risultano favorevoli allo sviluppo di ecosistemi territoriali di innovazione sociale. La varietà di tematiche, analizzate tramite molteplici approcci teorici e tecniche di ricerca, rende il libro ricco di spunti sia per l’analisi sociologica sia per il disegno politico e l’operatività dei settori che si occupano di rispondere alle sfide sociali e generare innovazione sociale.Zusammenfassung: The book is not just another content on Social Innovation. It is certainly about the practices and processes which generate innovation. Still, above all it is an attempt to broaden our view of the interconnection of these practices and processes with those elements that - directly or indirectly - can influence their design, implementation, dissemination and sustainability over time. Therefore, we refer to (Eco)Systems of Social Innovation and we do so from a critical reflection of the term ‘ecosystem’. This book is one of the results of the project SEED: Ecosystems of Social Innovation, (supported by the European Commission's DG Employment, Social Affairs & Inclusion) whose aim was to develop public and accessible spaces to enhance European resources for social innovation. In the course of the project, the University of Bologna contributed to the design and implementation of capacity building aimed at supporting the understanding and dissemination of social innovation ecosystems. Thus, in line with the reflections and experiences shared in that occasion, the book proposes a reasoning on the competencies - capacities, possibilities and potentialities, of actors and territories - that are favourable to the development of territorial ecosystems of social innovation. The variety of topics, analysed through diverse theoretical approaches and research techniques, makes the book a valuable resource for both sociological analysis and policy design dealing with social challenges and generating social innovation.Zusammenfassung: Dies ist nicht einfach ein weiteres Buch über soziale Innovation. Es befasst sich zwar mit den Praktiken und Prozessen, die Innovationen hervorbringen, stellt aber vor allem den Versuch dar, unsere Perspektive auf die Vernetzung dieser Praktiken und Prozesse mit jenen Elementen zu erweitern, die – direkt oder indirekt – ihre Gestaltung, Umsetzung, Verbreitung und Nachhaltigkeit im Laufe der Zeit beeinflussen können. Wir sprechen daher von (Ökosystemen) sozialer Innovation und tun dies ausgehend von einer kritischen Reflexion des Begriffs „Ökosystem“. Dieser Band entstand aus dem Projekt „SEED: Social Innovation Ecosystems“ (gefördert von der Generaldirektion Beschäftigung, Soziales und Inklusion der Europäischen Kommission), dessen Ziel es war, öffentliche und zugängliche Räume zu entwickeln, um europäische Ressourcen für soziale Innovation zu nutzen. Im Rahmen des Projekts beteiligte sich die Universität Bologna an einem Kapazitätsaufbauprogramm, das das Verständnis und die Verbreitung von Ökosystemen sozialer Innovation fördern sollte. Im Einklang mit den dort geteilten Überlegungen und Erfahrungen schlägt das Buch daher eine Diskussion der Kompetenzen – Kapazitäten, Möglichkeiten und Potenziale von Akteuren und Territorien – vor, die der Entwicklung territorialer Ökosysteme sozialer Innovation förderlich sind.
