It showcases the breadth of approaches to these languages and how crucial they have been in several theoretical and methodological advances related to these fields. Thus, the articles included in this Special Issue not only speak to researchers working on Ibero-Romance languages but also to a wider audience by highlighting how research on these languages contributes to general phonological and phonetic debates.
