Zusammenfassung: Dear Colleagues, It is with great enthusiasm that we lead this Special Issue on the topic of biosecuring animal populations. This is indeed a timely topic, based on the domestic and transboundary challenges of pathogens such as the African swine fever virus, the porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus, and the highly pathogenic avian influenza virus. This Special Issue is multi-organismal, cross-species, and global in nature. Topics include reviews, new research on disease transmission and biosecurity, advances in bio surveillance, and the role of human behavior in biosecurity compliance, often based on data from the field describing the efforts of veterinary practitioners and scientists to measure the impact of next-generation biosecurity interventions on the control of these significant diseases of herds and flocks.
