Depending on the circumstance, this holistic approach may privilege periodological, stylistic, aesthetic approaches, transcoding processes, interartistic or intermedial fusions, diachronic reconfigurations of a theme or motif, or transmedial phenomena. The attention that both the Essential Learning (2018) on the subject of Portuguese and the Profile of the student at the end of compulsory education (2017) pay to aesthetic and artistic sensibility, one of the ten skills to be developed, requires a careful reflection on teaching practices and on the emerging field of interart and intermedial studies. Literature and other arts in dialogue aim to contribute to the teacher-researchers awareness of a more consistent and fruitful dialogue between different artistic domainsSummary: A relação entre a literatura e as outras artes favorece a inteligibilidade do texto literário, do seu contexto cultural e da sensibilidade estética dominante na sua época. Dependendo da circunstância, este enfoque holístico pode privilegiar abordagens periodológicas, estilísticas, estéticas, processos de transcodificação, fusões interartísticas ou intermediais, reconfigurações diacrónicas de um tema ou motivo ou fenómenos transmediais. A atenção que tanto as Aprendizagens essenciais (2018) da disciplina de Português quanto o Perfil do aluno à saída da escolaridade obrigatória (2017) prestam à sensibilidade estética e artística, uma das dez competências a desenvolver, exige uma aturada reflexão sobre as práticas letivas e sobre o domínio emergente dos estudos interartes e intermediais.
