Zusammenfassung: Around 1953, M. M. Rossi wrote a book on the Italian “anglofilia” in the 18th and 19th centuries. For reasons unknown, the book was never published. Here is a brief account of its contents, with emphasis on the role Rossi assigns to Baretti in the manuscript, which is kept at the Biblioteca Civica Panizzi in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Possibly, Rossi derived the idea of writing this monograph from A.
